Building a Stronger Voice for Caribbean-Americans in Broward County

The Caribbean-American Democratic Club of Broward County is a vibrant grassroots organization committed to expanding civic engagement, strengthening Democratic participation, and empowering Caribbean Americans to shape the future of Broward County and Florida.

Our members represent the rich diversity of the Caribbean – including individuals and families with roots in Jamaica, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Barbados, The Bahamas, and many other Caribbean nations. United by shared values of opportunity, equality, justice, and public service, we work together to build stronger communities and ensure every voice is heard.

Our Mission

The Caribbean-American Democratic Club of Broward County is dedicated to empowering Caribbean-American voters, developing future leaders, advocating for strong families and thriving communities, and ensuring that Caribbean voices are heard at every level of government.

Broward County is home to one of the largest Caribbean-American communities in the United States. Our community contributes enormously to the county’s economic, cultural, educational, and civic life had to literally every level. Yet many residents remain underrepresented in political leadership and public decision-making.

We believe that meaningful change begins with informed, engaged citizens. Through education, advocacy, leadership development, and community organizing, we help Caribbean-Americans become active participants in the democratic process—not just during election season, but every day.

We also strongly believe that by building symbiotic relationships with partners at every level, in every way, will be to the mutual benefit of all.

The Club serves as a year-round resource for civic engagement by:

Registering and educating voters
Encouraging participation in local, state, and national elections
Developing future Democratic leaders and candidates
Supporting community service and neighborhood improvement initiatives
Hosting candidate forums, town halls, educational programs, and networking events
Promoting policies that strengthen families, expand economic opportunity, improve public education, protect voting rights, and support affordable healthcare
Building partnerships with community organizations, churches, labor groups, businesses, and civic leaders throughout Broward County

Our Vision

We envision a Broward County where Caribbean-Americans are fully represented in every aspect of civic and political life – from neighborhood associations and municipal boards to county government, the Florida Legislature, and the United States Congress.

Our long-term goal is to become the leading Caribbean-American Democratic organization in Florida and a model for civic engagement across the nation.
